Lawn Mowing Service
Our standard lawn care service includes mowing the entire yard, line trimming (weedeating) around all trees, posts, fencing, etc. We edge all sidewalks, patios and driveways with a blade edger and clean up of all trimmings. We use mulching mowers, as it is much better for the lawn.

We will be happy to provide a free estimate the same day you call.
We offer weekly and bi-weekly lawn care.

Bi-weekly service

Bi-weekly services are offered, but we do not recommended this service, specially in the faster growing portion of the season (May-August) .Your yard growth may vary due to a variety of conditions ,.. watering and fertilizing. We also will not cut the grass shorter than the industry accepted standards, which recommends only cutting 1/3 off the grass height each mowing.

Lawn mowing tips

Mowing your lawn the right way

Proper mowing is one of the most important practices in keeping your lawn healthy. Proper mowing increases the density of the lawn, which in turn deceases weeds. Each type of grass has a recommended mowing height.

Stick to the 1/3 rule - never remove more than 1/3 of the grass bed length at any one time. A healthy lawn can survive an occasional close cut. Repeated close mowing, or scalping, produces a brown lawn and several harmful side effects, including:

  • Injury o the crown, where new growth generates and nutrients are stored.

  • The surface area of the blade is insufficient to produce food through photosynthesis

  • Close mowing makes grass more susceptible to pests and disease.

  • Weed seeds have enough sunlight to germinate.

  • The soil may become compacted.

Also remember to :

  • Keep mower blades sharp and balanced. Ragged cuts made by dull blades increase the chance of disease and pests.

  • Change the mowing pattern each time you mow. Grass develops a grain based on your cutting direction, tending to lean towards the direction you mow. Alternating the pattern causes more upright growth.

  • Mow mowing forward, whether pushing a walk-behind mower or behind wheel of a lawn tractor.

  • Mow grass higher in shaded areas under trees where grass has to compete for water and nutrients with tree roots.

  • Leave clippings on the lawn unless they form clumps or rows. Grass-cycling returns nutrients and nitrogen to the lawn.

  • Reduce mowing frequency and raise the mowing height of cool-season grasses when hot, dry weather slows their growth rate.

  • Follow the proper fertilizing schedule for your type of turf grass.

Table 1 shows suggested mowing heights for different grass types.
